Howdy,

Areas for Action, my performance based show at Meulensteen (formerly Protetch) opens this Thursday, Oct 7th, between 10am-6pm.
...
The show will kick off on Thursday with one performer who will spit food dye all day long inside the galler...y. I’ll be there working with him, while also filming and taking photographs. Footage from that day will be included the next day.

On Friday, I’ll continue with 6 performers using red, white and blue body paint. Footage and images from that day will be included the next day, and so on. Each day will be another performance, all based loosely on processes I’ve used in the past. There will also be newly edited footage, printed images, and processed residue.

The show will be cumulative, pretty messy, very improvised, with lots of room for participation. I’ll be working in the gallery every day from 10am to 6pm (and after-hours, editing the footage and working on the images to be printed for the next morning).

All together there will be over 50 participants, many I have never met. Some will be traveling from as far away as Texas, Ohio, Washington, California, Minnesota, Tennessee and Virginia.

The show will last until November 6th. There will be a closing party on November 4th.
